Tea and Histamine Intolerance
Have you found any teas that help with histamine intolerance? I love a cup of tea but we are not sure which teas help my histamine levels and which don’t.
This post is a good excuse to dig out an old, very clean shaven throwback pic from 2015 of me with a cup of tea…
So let’s have a look at a couple of histamine-fighting teas.
First up, a histamine-fighting hibiscus tea.
Don’t take my word for it. Beth O’Hara says…
“Hibiscus is high in quercetin and kaempferol that can support mast cells. Be sure to use organic hibiscus flowers.”
And the Healing Histamine website calls hibiscus…
“Mast cell stabilising/antihistamine, quercetin rich and anti-inflammatory”
Secondly, the magnficent Tulsi tea.
Tulsi is said to have antihistamine effects that are comparable to the antihistamine drug, Ranitidine (trade name Zantac).
