Has anyone else suffered a reaction to jewellery?

Having never worn a ring before I got married in 2020, and started wearing this gold band.⁣ But it brought my skin out in hives, big time. I can’t believe it.⁣

It took me this long to get married, and now I don't wear the ring anymore! ⁣

Apparently this is quite common if you are histamine intolerant and it is because of the nickel that the gold is mixed with.⁣

Other options include platinum or stainless steel which are hypoallergenic, or I could try getting this ring ‘dipped’ in platinum.⁣

If you are suffering from skin problems, definitely look at the jewellery you are wearing. When I took the ring off, the symptoms get better almost instantly. So it must be the ring.⁣

Any advice for the rest of us. I've been promising my wife I"ll get a tattoo of a ring instead - she's not that keen!
