Histamine Intolerance and Tuna
Oh dear, I can’t tell you how many cans of tuna I ate as a student.
Fish is generally high on histamine, and canned fish in particular. It is something about how the bacteria grows in the fish once it’s being caught.
But don't worry, there are alternatives!
Look for companies that freeze their fish at sea, like the UK-based SeaFresh, which even has a histamine-friendly label on suitable products on their website.
Remember, finding the right foods for your body can be a process of trial and error. Keep testing and listening to your body!
