Histamine Foods to Watch out For
My ‘watch out for’ list. I don’t always completely avoid these foods, but I watch out for them.
It may seem long, but these are just foods I'm more cautious around. Everything else I tend to eat just fine (with helpful emojis for your reference lol)
Foods that have vinegar. (Apple Cider Vinegar might be okay) 🔴
Fermented foods (oh hi Kombucha) 🔴
Cured meats. 🔴
Soured foods. 🔴
Dried fruits. 🔴
Smoked fish. Should only be fresh from the water or freezer. 🔴
Most of the citrus fruits. 🔴
Nuts. Especially peanuts and walnuts. 🔴
Aged cheese. In fact all cheese.🔴
Leftovers. (Unless frozen straightaway.)🔴
Eggs (for some people – particularly egg whites) 🤔
Avocado🔴
Chocolate 🔴
Bananas🔴
Nuts 🤔 (some lists say some nuts okay)
Pineapple 🔴
Papaya 🔴
Strawberries 🔴
Shellfish 🔴
Tomatoes 🔴
And most artificial preservatives 🔴
Energy drinks, 🔴
Tea 🔴
Alcohol 🔴 (especially red wine pffff)
And finally, weird orange donuts like the ones in the pic 🟠 🍩 😂
These foods may differ for everyone, but being mindful of our body's reactions is essential for histamine intolerance.
